Does the Biore Anti-Blackhead Warming Cleanser work?

Description of my Skin:

Mostly red bumps.

Big pores on and around my nose.

Few whiteheads/blackheads.

Oily in t-zone, dry on cheeks. (combination skin)

-I read in a magazine that it was recommended for my skin, I just want to hear other people's personal opinions.

-If you could help me that would be great!

Hi devonn. It would help to know how old you are and what has or hasnt worked for you previously. But anyway as a rule... If you're acne is bad (ie. if you consistently have at least a few blemishes) your best option is to see your GP and get a dermo referral for roaccutane. It's a vitamin A medication that is guaranteed to get rid of your acne (unless you're just a ridiculously tragic case). It strips you of a lot of your natural oils so you need to take good care of skin moisturising.

Most skin experts will tell you that simple, non-fragrant, non-gimmicky products are best. There's a brand called Cetaphil that makes very good cleanser/moisturiser. Another option is Avene, which is based on french thermal water and has a range for acne-prone skin (not to be used in conjunction roaccutane), and a range for dry skin (which you would use if you choose to use roaccutane).

In addition to that its good to exfoliate once a week (brands like St Ives have a good reputation. Neutrogena, Loreal and estee lauder are also good - this is not something you want to opt for the cheapest option as you will be doing more harm than good)

As for the warming cleanser, Biore works well for some, for others it doesnt. Skin types usually respond to different things. I would give it a try. Olay also makes a good one. Just dont expect a miracle, warming products cant really cure really bad acne alone, but theyre really good for opening/decreasing your pores which is a really good thing and makes other products you use much more effective.

The other really important things for healthy skin is your diet and exercise. People always overlook this and search for a quick fix, but you are what you eat. So stock up on fresh veggies, fruit and H2O. Cardio workouts are also really essential because they open and cleanse your pores in a similiar (more effective) way that warming cleansers do - but warming cleansers have the advantage of going in and cleansing simultaneously.

Oh, you might also want to try a night cream called Differin that your GP can get for you. Its the best acne cream that exists, literally.

Whatever you do, dont buy into any brand pimple treatments, garnier, whatever - and especially not proactive. You'll just waste your money and time.

HTH
